1. The Holy Spirit reveals a new revelation to us.
Even after reading the same passage many times, we can still get a new understanding
through a new revelation from The Holy Spirit. 1Corinthians 2:10-14
'We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God
that we may understand what God has freely given us... '
The Holy Spirit always points to Jesus. John 5:39
'You diligently study the Scriptures because you
think that by them you possess eternal life.
These are the Scriptures that testify about me,
yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
John 14:26 Talks about the Holy Spirit teaching us and reminding us of everything
Jesus has said
2. We Search
Joshua 1:9 ... you should meditate on (the Word) day and night, so that
you may be careful to do everything written in it ...
3. We discuss and reason the Scripture
Acts 17:2-4 The church in Thessalonica was built in 3 weeks. Paul was reasoning
with the people and explaining the Scriptures on 3 Sabbaths. They were persuaded
and the church grew. Reading Acts together with Thessaloynians is very helpful.
4. By human help.
Sometimes God will use people to help us understand His Word.
Acts 8 Phillip was sent by God to explain the Scriptures to the Ethiopian man.
